One Spring Morning

And so, this is my submission for SCAD's 2007 anthology, "Pantomime." 2 - 8 pages, grayscale, no talking allowed.

Not a lot left to say about it at this point. As previously stated, I'm pretty satisfied with the result as a whole.

I can't believe there's only two weeks left in this quarter. Where does the time go?

This is fantastic. I love everything about it. This'll be the best story in the anthology. Was this done all traditional or all digital? Or a mix? (Obviously the tones are digital, but is the inking digital as well?)

Also, you should integrate Lightbox with your blog so when you post stories like this they can be flipped through. There are instructions on how to do that here:

Aw... My heart has been sufficiently warmed! That's totally sweet, dude!

Was this inspired by those drawings of old ladies you posted earlier or was that research or something?

Hey, the story looks great, really enjoyed it. Some nice subtlety in there, and I liked the ambivalent ending. Are you finishing school this year?

I don't know what's happening with Comixtravaganza at all. I asked Michael Jewel in my last submission, but I guess he didn't read the email or something. I'm going to just go ahead and draw it. If they don't do it this time around, I'll just release it in my next mini...

BTW, it's going to be a bunch of other peoples characters reading through an issue of the District. I was going to have Nathan Pretzelberger take exception to being told he looks like "Andy The Retard." I WAS going to have a fight break out, but then I realized that that would be out of character for both of our characters...

As someone who has lived both on the west and east coasts for substantial periods in life, all I can say is: Wes' side 'til I die.

Give me a holler if you decide you want to see Portland. It's pretty fantastic! Don't worry about the Real World--it's not nearly as scary as they've led you to believe. :)

outstanding! This is really ace stuff, Isaac. The tones and the craft in general are impeccable. I'll be looking forward to this in print!

Wow. Just wanted to say.. how amazingly awesome this is. Sorry I never caught you all quarter long..!! A senior's life is pretty darn busy, huh? You did an amazing job on this. I am just always surprised by your quality of work. But not only the art, your storytelling is amazing... The whole thing makes perfect sense and is so beautiful.. but sad.. wah!! Issac, how can you make such funny comics, but make the most depressing ones as well??

You're really amazing.
Don't forget it!

Hey Man,

Nice looking blog, glad I found it. Good speaking with you again on Tuesday. Shortly after we parted ways, I realized, I sent you on a wild goose chase regarding that sweetly colored cover you did and the vintage L.B. Cole cover it seemed vaguely related to. The cover I was thinking of is the fantastic, "Terrors of the Jungle" #18. Sorry to let my nerdiest instincts to share favorites from my collection get the best of me, but there it is. Good luck with everything.
