I've been using ballpoint a lot for random sketching lately; I kind of like being forced to commit and not having to worry about random pencil smudges.  On the other hand, the flow is really weird and gushy if you randomly grab the wrong pen (see above).

I loved doing this! I'm really starting to think that children's books are something I'm very interested in. Football heads, four-fingered hands, bulbous shoes, rich colors... what's not to love?I think the best part about this project was finally coming to grips with using digital textures in a semi-effective way. I've come to a greater appreciation for the difference paper choice can make on an ink drawing. For a long while, my assumption had always been a general "smoother = better," but with a certain degree of control, rough paper can have some really interesting, subtle effects.
